A pavement sign is the only piece of signage a business physically handles twice a day, every day, for years. That single fact explains almost every failure: the hinge cracks, the frame bends, the feet mark the paving, or the whole thing blows into the road.
None of those are print problems, and print is the only thing most suppliers talk about. We quote the hinge, the gauge and the base first, because that is what determines whether you buy one sign or four.
The second thing we do differently is ask about your council licence before quoting a size. Most authorities cap how much footway a sign may occupy, and an A1 board on a pavement licensed for A2 is a fine that costs more than the sign did.
Why we exist
Pavement signs are sold on price and print, in a market where the cheapest option uses a moulded plastic hinge that will not survive a winter of daily folding.
We use a steel pin hinge as standard, powder-coat rather than paint so a scrape does not become rust, and fit non-marking feet because landlords notice. None of that is expensive; it is just not what a race to the lowest price produces.
What we actually make
Classic double-sided A-frames in A1 and A2 with tool-free panel swaps. Chalkboard and menu frames in hardwood or powder-coated steel, with a proper matte writing surface and an optional printed header so the branding stays fixed while the message changes daily. Water-base spring signs that rock and right themselves instead of blowing over. Snap-frame boards where four hinged edges take a new poster in about thirty seconds. Heavy-gauge steel frames with weighted feet, anchor points and lockable retainers for sites that destroy ordinary boards. And the consumable: replacement posters and rigid inserts, cut to your frame, printed in dated seasonal runs.
We print for frames we did not supply, which is a large share of what we do.
How we price
No dollar figures on this site. Price moves with frame type, size, gauge and how many panels come with it. Send the details and a real quote comes back the same day, with a lowest-price guarantee if you are already holding a cheaper one.
On licences
We will ask whether your footway is licensed and what area it permits, and we will size the sign to that rather than to what looks best in a photograph. It is a two-minute conversation that prevents the most avoidable cost in this category.
